COHSEM Manipur Exam 2011 Merit of Rs.80000 for Science Toppers

Manipur Board Exam Merit for XII th Toppers
After COHSEM Results 2011 where the 12th toppers in Science are announced to get merit ,scholorship from Govt.

In a major encourage to the student community, the Government of
Manipur will select 228
students who excel in the Science stream in the class XII examination
conducted by Council of
Higher Secondary Educa-
tion Manipur (COHSEM) for
availing scholarship benefits under the Inspire Scheme.

The Scheme is informed to have been launched by
the Government of India ’s Department of Science
and Technology to
encourage students
pursue Science courses in
order to replenish
strength of the country ’s science teachers and
scientists. Under the Scheme a
scholarship amount of Rs80,000 will given to a student for pursuing the three- year graduation course in Science with a similar amount available in a year for those pursuing MSc course. An informed source in COHSEM affirmed that result of the class XII examination would be declared within May 30. Stating that a total of
22,776 candidates had
appeared in the Council
examination in Arts,
Science and Commerce
streams, the source said as per instruction of the
Department of Science
and Technology, which
functions under the
Ministry of Science and
Technology (Govt of India) the financial
assistance is to be given
to one percent of the
total class XII candidates. As shortlisting only one
percent from amongst
the Science stream
candidates will amount to
a negligible number of
beneficiaries the Ministry is informed to have
suggested to the Council
to take into account the
total number of class XII
students but recommend
for the scholarship from among the Science
students only.

Meritorious students
(Science) from both
Government and private
educational institutions
would be eligible for the
scholarship with the condition that 75 percent
aggregate should be the
cut-off mark, the source
informed while adding
that failure to maintain
the aggregate percent at graduation or MSc level
would mean annulment
of the financial assistance.

At the time of issuing
mark-sheets after
declaration of the class
XII examination result
228 top ranking science
students
would be given a form for
applying for the INSPIRE
Scheme scholarship
.
Scholorship Reward?
There will be a total of 10,000 meritorious science students are to be
covered under the
Scheme out of which
2500 beneficiaries would be reserved for AIEEE,IIT-JEE, AIDMT, IIESR,NISER, KVPY, NTSE,
International Olympiad
medallists and JBNST
students.

5 things to consider while choosing a college

You may read the previous page of Tips for Selecting a good college
Expenditure of education
The next major factor is the cost. Analyze the fee
structure among the selected colleges for that particular course. Depending upon the
college standard the fee structure will vary but it's
very important to check this factor while choosing the college. Don't lose the top colleges for high fee structure as they may have the concept of scholarships, installment
scheme or else you can prefer for the educational loan from banks. Consider this too while selecting the college.

Locality
The next factor that comes
into act is locality. This will be prime reason is college selection. Select the college that is situated in the good locality with all facilities available in and around the college. Don't choose the college where you have to travel a long distance everyday that will inturn get you bored of the college life. Intact college life should have fun and thrill as per the proverb "play while you play and work while you work".

Reputation
The most important factor in college selection is that the college should be a reputed
college. The employers will give first preference to the candidate who has the degree from the reputed college or
university. So, try to choose the college whose reputation is high in the market.

College Strength
Decide the college, which will provide limited seats for the course. Select that kind of college, because they will concentrate on each student and the student can feel the personal care taken by the college on their studies. If the college is accommodating
large number of students for the course, then there will be no interaction between the students and the professor's, which will lack in the knowledge and the student will lose their interest in the
subject.

So, the Conclusion is , Don't select the college simply as just your friend is also studying in that college, Visit
the selected college website and come to know about the
courses offered, their lab facilities, professor's
strengths, transport facility, canteen facility, library and
the sports center (Extra
curricular activities). Browse in the net about the selected colleges, where in which the
students will get a lot of
information about the college, old students review about the college.

How to choose best engineering college

The question arises that how to decide a college when there are thousands of engineering colleges in India. Now we discuss the features of colleges which will help you choose the right college. There are various factor while deciding a college for admission but always keep in mind the following factors while choosing a college:
Infrastructure:

This is the most important factor while choosing a college Infrastructure does not means good looking building only. It means that whether a college has sufficient amount of infrastructure according to it's intake capacity. It include classroom, administrative building, workshop, computer labs, various laboratories etc. Because during your four year of graduation you need all these things, so keep it your first preference while choosing a college.

Faculty:

Having a good infrastructure is not enough only. After having a sufficient infrastructure it is the faculty that make it useful, otherwise it will be a school without a teacher. Always have a look on college faculty which include Professors, reader, lecturer, teacher-student ratio, visiting faculty, teaching experience etc.
Facilities: This is another important factor that you have to keep in mind.Facilities provided by college assist you during your college period. It include Library, Internet, intranet, hostels, seminar halls, dispensary, student clubs, gym etc.

Placements:

This is the most important factor while deciding a college. It not mean that it is the first and last criteria to choose a college. Placements of a college depend upon many factor like it's infrastructure, faculty, facilities provided by college to it's student, college rank, past performance of the students in company, and last but not the least individual talent and personality and many more factors. Have a look on past placement record of college branch wise as well as company wise.So keep all the things in mind while deciding a college.

Extra curricular activities:

This is also one of the factor that should be taken into account because "all work and no play make jack a dull boy" this is true beacuse you have not to study only but have to survive in a competitive environment and for that u have to be a good personality.Extra curricular activities play a very important role in your personality development. So have a look about extra activities provided by college like, annual function, sport function, students club, seminars and workshops, industrial training, social activities, NCC, NSS etc.

Location:

This factor does not play a very important role but if it is nearby any industrial or software hub then it may be slightly useful to you as far as your industrial training and placement is concerned but keep this factor at last.

So now question arises that how you can get so much of information about each and every college there are some tips for you

1.Visit the college web site on Internet

2.consult your seniors

3.visit the college personally if possible

4.Take the help of counsellor
